Responding in Difficult Situations

Woodbury School of Business
Wednesday, Dec 1, 2021 at 8:00 AM (MT) to Wednesday, Dec 1, 2021 at 9:00 AM (MT)

If someone makes a sexist comment do you know how you’re going to respond? What if it is a superior? What if it is on a sales call? What about with a coworker? Oftentimes we are willing to sacrifice our own comfortability for someone else’s. The flip side of that can be a reactive response that leaves us unhappy with how we have handled the situation. Either way, we likely end up in a ruminating session with thoughts of what we would have done differently.

Rather than waiting for the moment of offense to be reactive or silent, our speaker Nina Bullock will teach practiced phrases of how to respond when someone crosses a boundary that you don’t want to be crossed in a professional setting.

Learn more about Nina Bullock

Nina Bullock is the VP of Partnerships & Business Development for HTS Builders, a local construction company. Anyone who knows her would describe her as passionate. Working in male-dominated industries has given her insight into what she and other women face in the workforce, especially in regards to sexism. Wanting to know more about how to use effective communication skills in hard conversations became a focus. She is fully immersed in the subjects of boundary setting, neuroscience, and communication
