The UVU College of Humanities and Social Sciences, in partnership with its sponsors and supporters, is proud to present the 2021 UVU Conference on Addiction. This single-day, virtual conference--designed to meet the needs and interests of professionals, service providers, families, community members, and students--will provide information on a wide range of topics dealing with addiction, prevention, and recovery. This event is scheduled for Thursday, March 11, 2021, and will be held 100% online.

We were devastated last year, when, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced to cancel our 10th Annual Conference on Addiction. We had an amazing day planned and we were gutted that we had to shut down that event at the last minute.

Thankfully, many of the incredible presenters we booked last year were generous enough to return to the UVU Conference on Addiction for two years in a row-- including our keynote presenter actress and author Mackenzie Phillips. Mackenzie is a survivor of substance abuse and a visible, outspoken advocate for addiction awareness and education. She currently works as a director at the Breathe Life Healing Center in Los Angeles where she specializes in trauma, drug, and alcohol treatment and recovery.

Despite moving to a virtual conference, we still plan to offer a full conference program, including keynote, plenary, and concurrent sessions intended to help participants learn all they can about the complex social, economic, psychological, and physiological issues related to addiction and addiction recovery. We also plan to offer professional CEUs, as well as an exhibitor fair featuring addiction-related service providers from around the state. All session materials, including recordings of all the conference presentations, will be available to registered participants for two weeks after the conference date.
